An Aline Camper for the Scout

Found this for sale in Idyllwild...

Cindy liked it so we bought it.

Torsion axle is well suited for rough roads/no roads and it is light and small, with a cargo deck on the back.

I had been looking for a small, light pop-up for a while.  It has what we need.

Pretty much done, and contrasted with a modern 900 lb. vibrator

My nephew, Jed, road his Harley from Tampa, FL to Idyllwild in 3 days...

He is not in the pictures because he owes me some from his camera... hint, hint.  But, we have his American muscle next to mine.  Of course his has ABS and Cruise Control and mine doesn't.  40 years makes a difference.

OK, she runs great, time to do the body work...

My buddies, The Village, came to my place to start the body work..

It took some heavy equipment to fix the mess the PO left

Besides a Porta Power, a belt sander was necessary 

As well as some heavy thinking, aided by drinking

because, what looked like a good end cap turned out to be swiss cheese

But, a bit of work, a lot of banging...

some elbow grease from the wizard, John

and we got her ready...

And my buddy Norm shot her

and she came out good.

  Now, I have the upcoming week to get the rest of the truck in primer...

          then onto color...
